Komorebi
Komorebi is a beautiful Japanese word for the sunlight that filters gently through the leaves of trees - creating fleeting patterns of light and shadow.
There isn’t quite a direct English translation, which is part of what makes the word so special. It describes not just the light itself, but the feeling of pausing long enough to notice it.
Komorebi is the second work in my Inner Sanctuary collection, a series inspired by the places, moments and rituals that invite us to slow down and reconnect with ourselves.
Inspired by the beauty of Japan, this painting is a celebration of nature, colour and those fleeting moments of magic that encourage us to pause and be present.
A reminder that sometimes, all we need to do is slow down and notice the light.
