Nothing to Reflect On

A playful exploration of light, reflection and perception, Nothing to Reflect On is created from individually placed holographic squares across the surface of the canvas. Scattered across the composition, the geometric fragments create a sense of movement, as though colour and form are suspended in mid-air.

The holographic surfaces interact with their surroundings, catching and reflecting light to produce shifting flashes of colour. The appearance of the work changes according to the position of the viewer and the direction and intensity of the light, making the piece feel constantly in motion.

The artwork is intended to be displayed under light to achieve its full effect.

When positioned beneath a direct or focused light source, the holographic elements become significantly more vibrant, revealing iridescent colours and reflections that may not be visible under softer ambient lighting.
