Behind the scenes!

What it's like working in the studio - some behind the scenes footage!

Hello all!

I've been working hard in the studio creating some new works and I thought what better way to share my day to day life with you than to share some clips of me working in the studio on some pieces! I've been sharing a lot more videos across my social media recently, particularly on my instagram page. If you haven't already, you can see all of these clips here:

I have made a conscious effort to experiment more with texture. You may not be aware, but for all of my abstract paintings, I create a special texture paste which I use and apply on the canvas. This can either be using natural organic mediums mixed with paint or gesso, or if i'm feeling lazy, i'll buy ready made texture paste from the local art & craft shop. Either way, all of my abstract art works are 3d and it's so integral to have a nice contrast between flat areas and raised relief areas.

In this video I am working on a commission piece for a client who wanted colours such as Metallic Gold, Metallic Silver and Blue in their piece. They liked the style of a previous abstract painting I had worked on which was extremely textured so what I am doing in this video is applying the texture to a few areas around the canvas where I feel it is looking a bit flat!

Stay tuned to see what this piece ends up looking like!

On the subject of videos, I have spent a lot of time building up my youtube channel and uploading videos of me working on my abstract art. This includes working on commissions, pieces from my collection, and demonstrations of more simple paintings that you can watch and learn. Here's an example of my latest video, where I have used golf leaf to finish off an abstract painting. This piece will be on my website for sale soon so you can buy it!

I will be trying to upload more videos in the coming weeks and I have an exciting announcement regarding the expansion of my new team!

As always, if you'd like to see more of my work and the abstract paintings I have for sale, you can see them all in my shop here:

Thank you all for your continued support.
