Learn how to make a simple abstract painting with metallic gold & bronze!
Over the last few weeks I have really made a conscious effort to upload more youtube videos on my youtube channel:
Please don't forget to subscribe, it means the world to me!
So what's inspired my latest videos? I have tried to incorporate a blend of colours and metallics in my latest abstract paintings. Using a mixture of materials such as acrylic paints, oil paints, and even ink, I have now begun to experiment more with the use of mixed media and I'm really enjoying the results I have been seeing.
In these youtube videos, I have used a very simple selection of tools and stripped it down to the basics. A palette knife and a sponge are the only tools you will be needing to take part in these tutorials and I guarantee you will be surprised at the results you can achieve in your abstract paintings with the bare necessities.
The reason i have stripped it back to colour and simple tools in these videos is as follows - Although I am an abstract artist based in London, I have been trying more to break into the abstract art market in the US, and one thing I have noticed about the clients I have come across in the US is their love for colour.
Living in the US, the clients are accustomed to very high ceilings, which is great for an artist! Living and growing up in London, we have much lower ceilings and prefer to have paintings that are more matched to our interior colours, and maybe this because quite simply, the paintings are closer to the furniture around us. But with the US clients I have come across, colour is the most important factor!
So the videos I have been uploading on youtube are really a great chance for all of us to learn which colours work best with others. It's as much a learning experience for me as it is for you.
As the journey on my youtube begins, I really don't know what to expect. My abstract paintings have always had a theme and style, and I have tried on instagram to keep that style consistent in everything I upload. But with youtube, I feel the opposite is true and I can really go to another dimension and try to bring out a new side to my work. Who knows where we are going on this journey.. but buckle up for the ride!
