Purple Rain

Purple Rain is a colourful, expressive painting of a wildflower meadow bursting with life. I’ve used lots of pinks, purples, lilacs, whites and little touches of yellow to create a feeling of being surrounded by flowers. The loose brushstrokes give the meadow a sense of movement, as if everything is gently blowing in the breeze.

The tall purple flowers stand out against the soft, pale sky, while little splashes of purple, pink and colour are scattered throughout the meadow. The flowers aren’t painted in a very precise way; instead, I wanted to capture the feeling and atmosphere of being in a wildflower field.
